The CC Toolbox and its
Underlying Knowledge Base
Written in Java, the CC Toolbox was used to build Common Criteria
Protection Profiles using an underlying knowledge base of assumptions, threats,
policies, objectives, and requirements. The requirements are taken
directly from Version 2.1 of the Common Criteria.
These products are distinctive in that they extend the Common Criteria
hierarchy upwards from requirements to the threats, policies, and objectives
that motivated the design of the actual CC requirements.
While the CC Toolbox itself does not run on recent versions of Java, its
support files and underlying knowledge base can provide the interested reader
with an understanding of the inspiration behind the CC Toolbox and, to
some extent, the Common Criteria itself. (These seven-year old
files contain some external links that no longer work; their internal links
should be OK. )
